Career Day - The Beautiful Co., Greenville Hair and Beauty Salon

Jessica and Kelsey are a powerhouse sister team when it comes to all things beauty. They revamped a historic West End building (100 Green Avenue) into a sleek, modern hair care and beauty salon that feels refreshingly minimal and relaxing. They opened the doors to The Beautiful Co. in May and are committed to giving Greenville the ultimate luxury experience and the most personalized service along with high end, imported organic products that you usually find in New York and Los Angeles (think Original & Mineral and Oway). They also offer bridal services and have the most ideal space for a group of bridesmaids to get ready on a wedding day. Keep this place in mind, brides!

These girls were nice enough to take time out of their busy schedules to tell us about their biz and vision for serving Greenville. I hope y'all enjoy hearing from them as much as I did in the following interview.

What are you looking forward to most this year? Any big goals or projects that get you excited?

J: I am looking forward to growing the salon team and becoming even more of a sisterhood with every woman that comes in our door!

K: I just got married a few months ago, so learning how to balance becoming a wife and being fully present at work with my clients. Learning how to cook is a goal for this year as well.

What called you to this career? How did you get started?

J: As a little girl, I admired my older sisters and mom. I loved watching the women in my family take care of themselves by doing their hair and makeup. It became such a passion and creative outlet for me.

K: Growing up in a family of nine with six girls, they all did hair and makeup. I grew up loving the beauty industry and connecting with women.

What’s the biggest overall lesson you’ve learned in running a business?

J: Staying humble and teachable and being willing to continue to stretch and grow. To not be afraid to make mistakes, but to have everything be a learning experience.

K: It’s all about the experience and valuing each person that walks through our door.
